The latest issue of the «Bonds Quarterly Statistics» report looks at the performance
of SIX Swiss Exchange's Bonds segment in the second quarter of 2017.
Today, SIX Swiss Exchange published the latest edition of its
Bonds Quarterly Statistics[pdf].
The CHF Bonds segment turned over CHF 30.6 billion in the second quarter of 2017, a decrease of
19.6% compared to the previous quarter and of 12.9%
compared to the second quarter in the previous year.
Turnover spike in Non-CHF Bonds
Comparing the single months with the previous year shows a similar activity in May, but declining turnover in the months
of April and June. However, the segment of Non-CHF Bonds could record excellent figures in the first half of 2017:
compared to the same period in 2016, turnover in the first two quarters was up 46.7%
to reach EUR 13.6 billion.
More Bonds from Swiss issuers
In Q2, the number of tradeable CHF-Bonds from Swiss issuers rose by 36 to 1'018 compared to Q1,
while turnover decreased by 14.4%. In the same period, the number of CHF-Bonds from
foreign issuers decreased by 16 to 683 with a drop in turnover by 26.9%.
