The Management Committee of SIX Swiss Exchange Ltd is identical with the senior management body of the business area
Swiss Exchange of SIX. It comprises the business area CEO as well as departmental heads. The business
area CEO is also a member of the Group Executive Board of SIX. The business area Swiss Exchange of
SIX encompasses SIX Swiss Exchange Ltd, the Swiss Exchange for structured products SIX Structured Products Exchange
Ltd, the credit trading platform SIX Corporate Bonds AG and SIX Exfeed Ltd, a leading supplier of raw
financial data. SIX Swiss Exchange also operates the joint venture Swiss Fund Data.
Chris Landis, CEO
Chris Landis is Division CEO of SIX Swiss Exchange since 12 November 2015. He was elected to the SIX Swiss Exchange Management
Committee as CIO in 2003 and is Member of the Management Committee of SIX Structured Products
Exchange Ltd. He has been employed by SIX Swiss Exchange and its predecessor organizations since 1992. In the
capacity of Senior Vice President, Chris Landis has been in charge of the department Information
Technology since 1999, with a major focus on developmental and external IT projects. After
graduating with a Type B Matura in Zurich in 1978, Chris Landis continued studying in the fields
of human medicine, information technology and economics.
Werner Bürki has been a member of the Management Committee of SIX Swiss Exchange since
July 2002 and, since October 2001, has held the position of Managing Director of
SIX Exfeed Ltd, a company he established as a European provider of raw
financial data. He was also a member of the STOXX Supervisory Board from December 2002 to December
2011. He started his career in 1992 as a sales manager with Dow Jones Markets Switzerland AG. By
2001, he had become a member of that company's Executive Committee and Board of Directors, whereas
in June 1998 he assumed the position of General Manager Switzerland for Bridge Information
Systems. During that phase, Werner Bürki introduced the Dow Jones platform to the
Swiss market and was responsible for the merger between Dow Jones Markets and Bridge
Information Systems. Werner Bürki graduated from business school in Zurich. Earlier in
his career, he was a specialist in the field of options and futures trading, and in
1987 completed additional specialized studies at the New York Institute of Finance.
Peter Gertsch has been a member of the Management Committee of SIX Swiss Exchange with
responsibility for Operations since October 2016. Before joining SIX Swiss Exchange, Peter
Gertsch was head of Competence Center Services at Basler Kantonalbank, where as a member of
the Executive Board, he also held responsibility for IT, back office and logistics services.
Prior to this, he was a member of the Executive Board of Compaq Computer AG Switzerland,
before which he was employed as head of a data center at UBS and head of an IT engineering
team at Zürich Versicherung. Peter Gertsch began his career as a software engineer at Sohard
AG. He has a degree in electrical engineering from a technical college.
Frédéric Messein has been a member of the Management Committee of SIX Swiss Exchange since January 2016. Since September
2015, he has been Head SIX Corporate Bonds, a joint-stock company under Swiss law that operates an
exchange-like organisation authorised and supervised by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority
FINMA and SIX Exchange Regulation. Frédéric Messein has more than twenty five years of experience in the
global fixed income market. Before joining SIX Frédéric Messein was Global Head of Fixed Income & Foreign
Exchange Product Management & Content Strategy for Thomson Reuters based in Geneva, where he spearheaded
the coordination of fixed income and foreign exchange products, contents and projects globally. Prior to that,
he was Head of Sales and Trading Products, EMEA at Reuters. Frédéric Messein has also worked for Reuters
Financial Software in Paris, where he was Global Head for Premium Desktop Products. Before that Frédéric
Messein took over Marvin SA from the founders as Managing Director and prior to that he was Director of
Marketing for Reuters France. Frédéric Messein has an MBA in Finance and Risk Management from the Aix-Marseille
University, and completed additional studies at the University of Michigan Business School.
Christian Reuss was appointed a member of the SIX Swiss Exchange Management Committee in July 2013 and has been Member
of the Management Board at SIX Structured Products Exchange Ltd (formerly Scoach) already since June 2009.
Since September 2014, he leads the area Sales & Product Management which also includes Marketing &
Communications as well as Issuer Relations. Christian Reuss began his career as a trainee banker at Dresdner
Bank AG in Frankfurt before starting his studies in business administration. From 2002 to 2009 he worked in
several locations for Goldman Sachs International in the US Institutional Research Sales & Trading and
Equity Flow Derivatives units, ultimately as Executive Director with pan-European responsibility in the
Private Investor Products Group in Zurich. Christian Reuss has a degree in business administration from
Frankfurt's Johann Wolfgang Goethe University and a Master of Business Administration from the Henry B.
Tippie School of Management at the University of Iowa, is a CFA charterholder and completed Executive
Management Programs at Harvard Business School and at the IMD.
