SMI - Swiss Market Index - Switzerland's blue-chip index
As a blue-chip index, the SMI is Switzerland's key equity index. It represents about 85% of the
free-float capitalisation of the Swiss equity market. The SMI comprises the 20 largest and most
liquid equities of the SPI. It is also equivalent to the SPI Large.
SMIM - SMI MID - the most liquid Swiss mid-cap stocks
The SMIM (SMI MID) contains 30 of the largest, most liquid mid-cap stocks in the Swiss
equity market, which are not represented in the blue-chip SMI index.
SMI Expanded - SMI & SMIM - up to 50 of the largest, most liquid stocks in the Swiss equity market
The SMI Expanded is made up of the SMI and SMIM, meaning that it comprises the 50 largest and
most liquid stocks in the Swiss market.
